Four-Hour Standoff: Woman Apprehended Safely

West Whiteland law enforcement personnel were dispatched to execute a mental health warrant for Laraine Whayland at a residence situated on Grubbs Mill Road, on the date of Thursday, September 28th. During the encounter, Whayland made threats toward the officers, as confirmed by West Whiteland Police Sgt. Scott Pezick.

Following a prolonged standoff that lasted nearly four hours, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) successfully and securely apprehended Whayland, subsequently evacuating her from the premises, according to Sgt. Pezick.

Whayland was subsequently transported to a medical facility and now faces charges that include making terroristic threats, possessing items associated with criminal activity, recklessly endangering another individual, committing simple assault, and engaging in harassment.
