Tragic Early Morning Crash Claims Life on Interstate 77 in Chester County

A fatal single-vehicle accident transpired in Chester County early Friday morning, as reported by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The incident unfolded at 12:30 a.m. on Interstate 77, close to mile marker 52.

According to troopers, a 2006 Dodge Durango was heading south on I-77 when it veered off the left side of the road, subsequently overcorrected, and ultimately flipped over.

Both the driver and a passenger in the vehicle were transported to the Medical University of South Carolina.

Regrettably, the driver succumbed to their injuries, as confirmed by the troopers.

The highway patrol is presently conducting an ongoing investigation into this collision.
