Fulton County DA Secures Enhanced Juror Protection in Trump Election Case

A recent court filing reveals that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has received approval from a judge to enhance the protection of juror identities in the Georgia election interference case.

In a concise two-page order issued on Monday, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee has implemented stringent measures concerning the confidentiality of jurors involved in any upcoming trial related to former President Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants.

The existing court regulations already limit the use of photographic or electronic devices unless expressly permitted by a judge.

However, Judge McAfee’s latest order goes a step further by prohibiting the creation of identifiable sketches or any form of recording, including images, statements, or conversations involving jurors or potential jurors.

Additionally, the judge has mandated that jurors and prospective jurors should only be referred to by numerical identifiers in court documents while the trial is ongoing.

Furthermore, the disclosure of any juror information that could potentially reveal their identity, such as names, addresses, phone numbers, or employment details, has been expressly prohibited.
